Indonesian politician who is best recognized for having served as the 16th Mayor of Bogor. He is a member of the National Mandate Party or PAN and is also known for lecturing on politics at the Parahyangan Catholic University and Paramadina University.
He earned his bachelor's degree in International Relations from Parahyangan Catholic University's Faculty of Politics in 1998. He then earned his Master's from Monash University in 2001 and his PhD in Politics from the Australian National University in 2006. He was first elected Mayor of Bogor in April of 2014.
He has received several awards for his role as mayor of Bogor including from the Ministry of Health, the National Body of Demographics and Family Planning, and the Indonesia Digital Society.
He marred Yane Ardian in 2002 and together they had two children: a son and a daughter.
He served under President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono during his time as the 16th Mayor of Bogor.
