Famous as both a soap opera actress and a rock and pop singer, Vigard played Morgan Richards on CBS's Guiding Light and worked as a backup vocalist for both the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Fishbone. Also a theater performer, she appeared in Broadway productions of Hair (1977) and I Remember Mama (1979).
During her childhood years, she performed in numerous musical theater productions and also booked work through the Ford Modeling Agency's children's department.
She was cast in the title role in the first regional production of the musical Annie; however, because producers wanted a more bold and brassy interpretation of the role, they replaced Vigard with Andrea McArdle, who went on to star in the musical's original Broadway production.
Though she was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, she spent the majority of her childhood in New York City. She later settled in New Mexico with her husband and her daughter Emily Rose.
She dubbed the singing voice of actress Illeana Douglas in the 1996 movie Grace of My Heart.
